The former site of a Auburn seafood restaurant, which operated for more than six decades, has been purchased for $2.9 million, with the purchaser pitching a car wash facility for the site.
Regency RE Investment LLC of Andover purchased 861, 871, 873, 879 Southbridge St. and 16 Hill St. ― five parcels comprising 3.5 acres of land — in deals finalized on Thursday, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records. The properties were purchased from the Richard J. and Dawn L. Lemansky Trust of Auburn.
The property at 871 Southbridge St. is the former site of Ronnies Seafood and Ice Cream. Ronnies operated for 67 years before closing in March 2024, according to a post on the company’s Facebook page.
Regency is proposing a 4,800-square-foot car wash for the site, which it expects to service about 375 cars per day. The proposal was approved by a 5-0 vote at the Auburn Planning Board meeting held on Feb. 11, according to meeting minutes.
Five properties were given a combined 2025 tax evaluation of $2.01 million, according to Town of Auburn property records.
