Success Story

After the Fire

Multifamily structure, devastated by flames, restored.

Client situation

In a four-unit townhouse building in Oxford, flames roared in the cold December temperatures. Four families were forced to move into temporary housing. While the approximately 6,000 sf multifamily structure was sound, sections were charred and there was smoke and water damage everywhere. A public adjuster contacted NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs to reclaim the housing units and rebuild.

Our response

Given the extensive damage from the fire, we had to take much of the structure back to studs and rebuild entirely new townhouses from the basement up. While each unit maintained the original basement, main and second levels, the rebuilt plans repositioned the units and reconfigured the bedrooms. This allowed each one to have a full bath upstairs, an upgrade from the original homes. Six months after the fire, tenants were able to move back in.
